Paper please.......

I've been on a mission to find some vintage 1950's paper dolls and I think that I may have located some. I searched Craig's List and I found a lady right here in Chandler, AZ, with a collection of her mother's paper dolls. Paper dolls were an important part of my childhood and I have very fond memories of playing with them. Growing up in the 1950's was a wonderful experience, and having my neighbor, Joann, come over to play with our paper dolls was always so much fun. My cousin, Rosalie, would join us at times and we would build elaborate "houses" for our paper dolls out of the folders that they came in. Some of the "houses" were two story affairs that would collapse if we weren't careful. Those old paper doll sets are hard to find now, but I plan on buying some from the vintage collection that I recently came across. I'm working on a memory keepsake and I plan on including the paper dolls as a treasured piece of my past.

You can't play with the sun.....

Last week my husband and I went to Tucson to visit with my daughter, my son-in-law, and my 8 month old grandson, Brandt. All of a sudden Brandt is very mobile and getting into everything. He crawled into his bedroom and started to "hit" the carpet with his adorable, little hand. I had to chuckle because Brandt was trying to play with the "sun" that was shining through the blinds onto the carpet. He was slightly confused because his new plaything wasn't doing anything, so I had to redirect his attention to some toys that he could actually interact with. This child is the most adorable baby on earth....I say this with much pride and love. He is always smiling and he is so easy going~~a trait he gets from his parents. I thank God daily for this wonderful bundle of joy and curiosity.
