A Cupcake, maybe!

I had a little of this and a little of that so I made a cupcake....sort of.  I'm not creative but I do see tons of things that I would like to make on Pinterest so I gave it a shot.  I would really like to make a fabric cupcake with styrofoam pieces, but I need to get additional things for that project.  At any rate, I found this cherry candle holder at a yard sale, so I made a cupcake for the cherry!

Preparation

Hmmmmm

Not quite right

This is missing something

Maybe more flowers will do the trick

Done for now but I'm not really satisfied

Perhaps my attempt at the fabric cupcake will yield better results!

A little of this and a little of that!

April was a busy month for me!  I hosted our Bunco group, I did some "junking" (going to garage sales),  I made some crafts and I/we celebrated Easter in Tucson with my daughter and her family.
This idea came from Pinterest!  What better way to display knives, forks and spoons than to make them look like carrots????  I already had the lamb planter so I just put the "utensils" and napkins in the spot where a plant would normally go!

I recently bought this cute spring pitcher at a yard sale so I used it for another utensil holder.

My Bunco guests enjoyed the "carrot" displays!

This craft idea is also from Pinterest!  I searched "dollar tree crafts" in Pinterest and found endless possibilities!  I purchased everything at Dollar Tree and proceeded to glue the scented soap petals onto the foam ball.  I didn't follow the directions given on Pinterest so I used twice as many petals and burned my fingers twice as many times!!!!  My advice...always read the directions first!!!!!

A work in progress

Almost done

Finished!

Part of some Bunco decor

I really like this book holder that I found at a yard sale

It is perfect for holding a picture of my mother

More yard sale finds that I used for desserts when I hosted Bunco

All 6 bunny dessert plates were $2.00 at a yard sale!!!!!!

Notecard Party~~Vintage Weddings

I love all things vintage and I have several old wedding photos that my cousin gave to me.  I know some people in these photos and I don't have a clue who some people are in the others!  I'm linking to Vee's Notecard Party so visit her blog and check out other postcards.

This "Just Married" photo is of my mom's cousin Madeline.  Madeline's sister, Stella, is on the far right.

I don't know a soul in this photo but the wedding took place many, many years ago judging from the fashion and the abundant flowers.

She's pretty but I don't know who she is.

This is the first time I've participated in the Notecard Party so I don't even know if I'm following the rules and doing this right.  Oh, well, enjoy the wedding photos.

Unusual and Unique Chick

I went to some yard sales this morning and I found this adorable cookie jar.  I don't bake and we don't have cookies in the house unless our grandchildren visit, so why on earth did I need to buy this unusual cookie jar?????   Because it is so unique and darling...that's why!  It just called out to me, and I had to have it! It is perfect for Easter decor although I'll leave it out all year.

Yes, I'm adorable and I know it!!!!!

Tiny Things

Welcome to the tiny world of the Mini Time Museum of Miniatures in Tucson, AZ.  I took my grandchildren for a visit last November and the museum still had some Halloween displays up and they were starting to put up some Christmas displays.  Unfortunately my little granddaughter spied a big mummy and freaked out.  My husband had to meet us at the museum to pick her up, however, my grandson and I stayed and toured all the tiny things that were on display.  Click to enlarge for full detail.

This first photo is of a mansion study.  I can't believe how detailed everything is!  I just love the "miniature" world and never get tired of the skill that goes into creating such wonders.

This next photo is of a lady's sitting room/dressing room.  AMAZING!

The dining room is so elegant!

A doll shop

A doll house...not a good photo because I'm so inept with a camera.

CLOCHE FEVER!

It all started when I read Sandy's blog!  She is hosting a cloche swap made from Dollar Tree plastic wine glasses.  What a fabulous idea!  You can visit Sandy's blog or go to Pinterest or Google to see endless cloche possibilities/ideas using Dollar Tree materials.

I made this cloche with a DT plastic wine glass, a ribbon I had on hand, an egg from a multi-package of eggs at DT and a bird's nest that I had on hand.  Oh, the yellow base is from a box of cupcake holders that I purchased at Walmart for $2.97.  I don't remember how many holders were in the box.

Same basic idea with stuff that I already had on hand.

This cloche is a tad bit different and bigger but still made with items from DT.  The glass vase, the bunny inside the cloche, the earthy grass and the pink glittery bunny on top are all from DT.  How easy and cheap is this?????

So quick and easy!

Now the game changes a bit.  I found this idea on Pinterest using Dollar Tree materials.  I just randomly put stuff on the kitchen table and sat down and stared.  A lot of the bird stuff (tree, birds, nests, twigs, houses, eggs, etc.) I had on hand because I used a nesting theme for my daughter's baby shower when she was pregnant with Lillian.

I found the white wire trash container at Dollar Tree (where else?) and reshaped it to look like a bell. "Cloche" in French means "bell".

I used a white plate from DT as my base and then I started to play with nests, birds, twigs, etc.

It's kinda hard to see but I think that you get the idea.

Thanks, Sandy, for the inspiration.  These things are so quick and easy to make and the possibilities are endless.  Think seasons/holidays and away you go.............................

Beauty in nature

My daughter, Karen, got a new camera for her birthday and decided to "learn" how to use it by taking pictures in her backyard.  The photos that she captured are amazing!!!!!  Enjoy
