PINK SATURDAY

Welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly. Click on the "Pink Saturday" button on the right-hand side of my blog to visit other ladies posting photos of their pink treasures. Thank you for stopping by and please leave a comment. Enjoy your visit~~~~~~ These two glass containers have been around for a very long time. I think that my mother had cotton balls in them when they were on the bathroom vanity of my childhood home.

My talented mother used to knit and crochet quite a bit before her eyesight started failing. This pig was in my daughter's room and the doll and blanket were on display in my mother's "knitting" room.

This hankie is so pretty and delicate....I just love it. My mother saved many of her hankies and this is just one from her collection.

I found this Lefton vase and doll at a yard sale and spent all of $1.50 for both of them. The doll has such a pretty face but I wish that she had a different body. Perhaps I can remove her head, put it on a more suitable body, and give her a dress and some accessories. The delicate flowers on the vase are so pretty......

I believe that this cup had a floral arrangement in it at one time, and it is sitting on a pretty dresser scarf that was crocheted by my grandmother. I have several tea cups and saucers along with many of my grandmother's crocheted items. I come from a long line of ladies that did needle work and I was instructed in the fine art of embroidery as a little girl. I also dabbled in knitting and some crocheting but I didn't have the patience that my mother and other ancestors had to pursue any of it. At the urging of my mother and I, my daughter did a couple of embroidery pieces that I saved for her to show her children. I have a lovely tablecloth that my mother worked on for over a year (embroidery) and countless pillowcases that my grandmothers and I worked on.
Thank you for visiting my Pink Saturday blog and have a wonderful weekend. Since I live in Arizona, I will be cheering on our Arizona Cardinals this Sunday. I think that our Super Bowl party will be a very lively one!

Happy pink Saturday. I love the doll and the ideas you had for her as well. My show you asked about last Sat. is the Tucson Bead Show next weekend. There is supposedly 40 shows going on at one time with shuttles in between. This is my first time there. We shall see, it sounds fun. Hopefully it is nice and warm! (flying in from snow and ice )

Hi Loretta!
I loved all of your Pinks!
My favorite was your mother's hanky. It looks like your doll may have been some kind of composition doll? Could she have had a stuffed body? Now you have me curious! LOL

Have a great weekend!
Deanna :)

Loretta, I love all of your pink things! Happy Pink Day! My name is also Loretta. I rarely find another one! I have the exact same wooden doll; I believe I paid $20 for it at a neat shop in Oregon in the 1990's. I always meant to dress her up. I think I actually have a dress pattern for her. I wonder if I could find it and email you a copy? It might take some digging...

Pretty pink treasures. The teacup caught my eye since I collect them.

Enjoy the Super Bowl. I am watching right now but not with much interest as my beloved Patriots aren't in it!

My first Pink Saturday- nice to meet you!
